Private lessons with SMI!

Sound Music Instruction specializes in high quality and convenient one-on-one music lessons in your home. This is where our service REALLY shines. We show our students the joy and satisfaction that comes from learning an instrument, in a way that’s both practical and fun.

Fun. We say that word a lot at SMI. And we mean it.  Our lessons are high quality, but not high pressure. Our experienced instructors customize lessons based on a student’s personal music tastes, ability to grasp new concepts, experience, and goals, helping them in a positive yet efficient way. We believe that it’s important to get the student playing as soon as possible, and we favor a hands-on approach that emphasizes actual song-playing as much as theory.

Because Sound Music is a member of the National Association for Music Education, (MENC) and the Music Teachers National Association, (MTNA), we must follow a higher standard for teaching. These professional associations ensure our students can meet the national standards for music education, be it simple chords for playing along to their favorite band, or more involved jazz improvisation techniques to ready them for the future. We couldn’t be any more convenient either. We travel to YOUR home for lessons and we work around YOUR schedule. If you want us to come teach twice a week, including a Sunday, we can do that. How about one time every other week? We can do that too. We created SMI so music lovers of all ages could learn an instrument in the comfort and privacy of their own home at a time and day that works best for them.
